Kleo alternatives: what to use instead, and when to stay
Kleo is now a $99-a-month web app with no free trial. What it does well, who it suits, and the alternatives worth comparing — including where each one falls short.
Kleo started out as a free Chrome extension for browsing other people’s top LinkedIn posts. It is a different product now: a paid web app for writing LinkedIn posts with AI, with the extension kept as a way to save posts you like into a swipe file. If you knew the old Kleo, that change is probably why you’re looking at alternatives.
This post covers what Kleo is today, who it suits, and the alternatives worth comparing. We make one of them, Blabigo, so read our section with that in mind.
What Kleo is today
As described on Kleo’s own site in October 2026:
- A web app with a Chrome extension. The extension saves posts and ideas from around the web into a swipe file that syncs to the app.
- AI writing. Unlimited post generation, drafting, rewriting and editing, with training on your writing style and a knowledge base about you.
- A large template library. Hundreds of hook and post templates, plus prompts and playbooks.
- Graphics. Image generation for posts, with a monthly limit.
- Scheduling, for LinkedIn only.
- Coaching. Live group coaching and a private community are part of the subscription.
Pricing is $99 a month or $999 a year. There is no free trial; the annual plan comes with a 30-day guarantee. Kleo’s site doesn’t list post analytics among its features.
Who Kleo suits
Kleo is built for people who want to get good at writing LinkedIn posts and are willing to pay for structure to get there: templates, swipe files, coaching and a community. If that’s what you’re after, the price buys more than software.
It is a harder sell if you mainly need to publish and measure. Kleo is mainly a writing tool, it is a significant monthly cost for one person, and without a trial you can’t try it before paying.
The alternatives
Blabigo
Blabigo is a LinkedIn tool for writing, scheduling and measuring posts in one place.
- Writing: an AI post generator and formatting (bold, italics, lists), plus a free post preview tool.
- Scheduling: unlimited scheduling on every plan.
- Analytics: impressions, clicks and engagement per post and per account, including posts you published before you joined (you can import past posts).
- AI assistants: an MCP server lets Claude and other assistants read your analytics and draft or queue posts.
- Teams: employee advocacy on the Business plan, for companies that want colleagues posting too.
Plans start at €14.99 a month, and every plan has a 7-day free trial. See pricing for what each plan includes.
Where Blabigo falls short of Kleo: no coaching or community, and a much smaller template library. If the templates and the coaching are why you chose Kleo, Blabigo won’t replace them.
AuthoredUp
AuthoredUp works as a browser extension inside LinkedIn’s own post editor, with a separate web app. It’s popular with people who want better formatting, previews and saved drafts without leaving LinkedIn.
Good for: people who already write their own posts and want the editing experience improved. Less good for: people who want AI to do more of the writing. We compare the two in AuthoredUp alternatives.
Taplio
Taplio is one of the best-known all-in-one LinkedIn tools: AI writing, scheduling, analytics and lead-generation features in one subscription.
Good for: people who want growth and outreach features on top of content. Less good for: anyone who only needs to write and schedule, since you pay for the rest too. More in Taplio alternatives.
A general AI assistant plus a scheduler
If Kleo’s main appeal was the AI writing, a general assistant like Claude or ChatGPT can do much of that, especially once you give it examples of your own posts. What it can’t do on its own is publish, schedule or tell you what performed. Pairing it with a scheduler that has an MCP connection closes that gap: the assistant drafts, and the scheduler queues and measures.
How to choose
Start with what you actually need:
- Better writing, with help learning how? Kleo is built for this.
- A better editor for posts you write yourself? Look at AuthoredUp.
- Writing, scheduling and analytics in one place? Compare Blabigo and Taplio, and try both before paying — Blabigo’s trial is free.
- Already using Claude or ChatGPT to write? Add a scheduler with an MCP connection rather than paying for a second writing tool.
Whatever you choose, test it the same way: write and schedule a week of real posts, then look at what the tool tells you about how they did. If it can’t tell you, you’ll be guessing at what to write next.
Turn this into posts you actually publish
Blabigo helps you plan, write, and schedule LinkedIn content — for you and your whole team.
